Weekend Summer Itinerary for Families

Check out the below itinerary for a fun packed couple of days with the kids in Medicine Hat this summer. There’s a lot of activity options, you may want to fit in some hotel pool time and stretch this itinerary to three days!

Day One

9:30am Enjoy a hot breakfast at your hotel. Take a coffee to go and head out for a busy day!
10:30am Go see the World’s Largest Teepee – It’s over 20 stories high!
11:00am Stop at the Zucchini Blossom on Riverside and get some fresh made sandwiches to go.
11:30am Pack your bathing suits and beach toys, take your picnic lunch and head out to Echodale Park for an afternoon of family fun! –They have a concession stand in case you need an ice cream snack.
5:00pm Unwind on the beautiful patio at Local, a downtown restaurant and pub.
7:00pm If you’re not completely exhausted head up to the newest arcade in town, Space Arcaders. –There are games for every age and prizes when you redeem your tickets.
8:00pm Need a little treat before ending the day? Stop at local hot spot, Swirl’s Ice Cream before heading back to your hotel. – There are plenty of options but our favorite is the cookie dough arctic swirl.

Day Two

10:00am Breakfast can be enjoyed right at your hotel
11:00am Head to Dunmore Dugout to enjoy a variety of fun family activities, Go carts, ropes course, trampoline park and much more!
12:00pm Check out the Clubhouse at Paradise Valley for lunch – Sit on the deck to enjoy the creek and coulee views.
1:30pm Visit John’s Butterfly House to see beautiful creatures, like the Blue Morpho, in their beautiful habitat.
2:30pm Beat the afternoon heat and visit one of the Free Outdoor Water parks – We love Strathcona Island Park playground as there is lots of shade for when you a break from the sun,
6:00pm For dinner try Ralph’s Texas Bar and Steakhouse. There’s a pub side or dining room, depending if you’d like a casual meal or something a little fancier, kids are allowed until 9pm . – Try the delicious steak and lobster special every Thursday for only $29.95!
