Event Funding, Sponsorship, and Partnership.
Committed to providing the highest quality-marketing standard for the city, the MHAA invests a portion of its Destination Marketing Fund in marketing efforts that encourage out-of-town visitation growth and promote Medicine Hat as a leisure, convention and event destination.
Funding Criteria
Preference will be given to applicants that clearly identify the specific use of funds and the MHAA’s return on investment, including hotel room generation, promotional entitlement, and other economic benefits for Medicine Hat.
Key information should include how the host will use the funds towards reducing tournament fees, applying for future events, enhancing guest experience, club legacy projects, etc. that will ultimately encourage more tournaments/attendees for the future.
Applications can be submitted even if the event is in the bid stage and not confirmed.
Applications are processed on a first come, first serve basis. It is preferred that you submit your application at least six (6) months prior to your event date. A Final Evaluation form must be completed within 60 days after the event to receive the full sponsorship. Certain terms and conditions apply.
Funding Process
- Apply for funding using our Online Application form.
- After receiving approval, ensure partnership terms are completed; Such as adding the MHAA logo to event website, social media posts, displaying banners at event, etc.
- Provide MHAA hotel information to event attendees. A PDF document and/or webpage link will be provided.
- Submit the Final Evaluation form, within 60 days after the event has been completed, including at least one receipt.
