Medicine Hat's local brewing scene is just getting started with three great new breweries, Hell's Basement Brewery, Medicine Hat Brewing Company and Travois Ale Works along with our own craft distillery Grit City. With brews such as All Hops for a Basement IPA and Sin Bin Pale Ale you know there's a story worth checking out. Here's some brief info on our local breweries (check our their websites for more!):

Revolutionary American and traditional European style ales brewed in small batches right here in downtown Medicine Hat and available only in our public tasting room. The lineup will change continuously, depending on what Jacques decides to brew. It is what we are about. We only brew 7 barrels per batch. In 1912, the Medicine Hat Brewing Company began serving old fashioned lager, ale, and stout to our city’s early, thirsty residents. When the Temperance Movement picked up, this popular brewery - One of Medicine Hat’s first - was forced to close. But you cannot keep a good thing down. Railway St. Phone:(587)554-0695 – The story is like those in the burgeoning craft brewing industry, which bills itself a rebellious answer to mass produced brew. Small batch craft distillery producing a variety of vodka, gin, rums, and whiskeys; using traditional botanicals and locally sourced ingredients. Grit City is like Gas City, but with a bit more oomph. Oomph- physically described as a gut-check, fist pump. Grit City Distillery is a creation of hard work, passion, and grit.
