A Downtown Medicine Hat Tradition

The Medicine Hat & District Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Downtown Collective presents the 2024 Chili Cook-Off on Saturday July 13th, 2024! Bowl sales start at 11:00am and the siren starts for tastings 11:30am. There will be a watermelon eating contest (yum!), hot pepper eating contest (ouch!), and of course, chili cook-off awards! 

Local Tip: “People should come down as soon as possible because there’s thousands of people that we expect to be there and there’s only so much chili,” she says. “So it’s a good idea to come, we are going to start selling the bowls at 11 {a.m.} and then there’s going to be a siren that’s like ‘3 ,2, 1 go’ and everyone at 11:30 can go start getting their chili.” - Becky Klaiber
