Celebrate Canada's Birthday in it's Sunniest City!

On July 1, the Canada Day Society activities begin!  Start with a Free Pancake Breakfast, then travel through beautiful Kin Coulee Park to the Children's Zone and Hobby Market.  For lunch enjoy some local faire at the Food Alley, then have some Free Birthday Cake.  Catch some local talent at the Bandshell or take a Hayride to the Youth Stage. Check out the

MH Interpretive Program interactive booth, they will be Celebrating Canada Day at Kin Coulee Park. Stop by to visit and learn about invasive species.

As evening draws near the Sandfly Festival will begin.  Bring your lawn chair or picnic blanket and come early for a good spot!  At 4:15pm the first of four bands will begin.  A finale like no other will end this great concert set as the Canada Day Fireworks show begins.

Beat the Heat skateboard competition is July 1- One of Western Canada's biggest amateur skate competition returns! On Canada Day at kin coulee, skateboarders from near and far will be throwing down their best tricks to try and take home a chunk of our cash prize, or some product from some of our awesome sponsors! With $25,000 in cash and prizes to be won, this is an event nobody wants to miss.

 

Desert Blume Golf Course is offering some Canada Day fun!  Enter the golf tournament then enjoy a bbq steak and shrimp dinner, followed by evening fireworks.  There will be prizes for best decorated teams and golf carts.  Click here to see their poster or phone 403-581-4653 ext. 114 for more details.

 

Medalta in the Historic Clay District is offering pre-Canada Day celebrations.  June 29th there will be a ‘Canada Day’ themed Market @ Medalta. The Market will be partially outdoors (weather permitting) and will include a variance of local vendors selling local products like food trucks, jewelry, clothing, fruit, artworks, home decor, etc. Live music by Piper Hayes. There will also be an art opening that night called I Am Western from 6pm-8pm, (http://medalta.org/iamwestern) that showcases a postmodern interpretation of the cowboy and western genre; deconstructing, re-contextualizing, and modernizing the image of who we are with an eye and integrity to current realities.
